3D Dental Imaging
by Houston’s Advance Orthodontics
Occasionally, traditional, two-dimensional x-rays do not provide the diagnostic information necessary to make critical treatment decisions. In these cases, three-dimensional x-rays (CT scans or CAT scans) are important in the diagnosis and treatment of orthodontic patients. These images allow us to visualize the oral anatomy in ways never before possible. Furthermore, modern CT machines expose the patient to far less radiation than in years past, making the scans extremely safe.
While many Houston dentists and orthodontists have only very recently begun to utilize CT images (or still do not use them at all), Dr. Karotkin has read hundreds of images, giving him extensive experience in this area.
In the event that a CT scan is ordered to aid in the diagnosis of your case, we will direct you one of several conveniently located imaging centers.
